The same software, bought and updated through Apple on the Mac. Subscriptions and updates are handled by Apple rather than by us.
Xenon on the Mac App Store — the same mid-point of the 3D modeling line, bought and updated through Apple.
Runs on macOS 12 Monterey (2021) and everything since, including macOS 26 Tahoe — and we expect Golden Gate, the next macOS, to be fine too. Nothing in Xenon CAD depends on old Apple technology.
On macOS 12 Monterey we support its final release, 12.7.6; below 12.4 it will not start at all.
Mac App Store edition. Measured universal (Apple Silicon and Intel) at build 1204.219, the same build as the direct download.
On an older Mac: Nothing is lost through the App Store here — Xenon CAD has never had a version below macOS 12.4, so there was never a store route for an older Mac to begin with. If you need one anyway, our direct download of build 1204.98 runs from macOS 10.14 Mojave onwards. It works, but it is an older build and does not carry the improvements we are still making to the current one.
Lithium on the Mac App Store — the same drafting and 3D-wireframe product, bought and updated through Apple.

On an older Mac: Nothing here reaches a Mac below macOS 12.4, and the App Store is not a reliable route on an old Mac in any case. Lithium is a subscription, so subscribe with us directly and use build 1204.98, which runs from macOS 10.14 Mojave onwards — bearing in mind it is an older build and does not carry the improvements we are still making to the current one. If you already subscribe through Apple, talk to us first so you are not paying twice.
If your Mac cannot run macOS 12 Monterey, the editions here will not install — they require macOS 12.4 or later. More to the point, the App Store is not a reliable way to get older software onto an older Mac, whoever made it.
What we measured on a Mac running macOS 10.14 Mojave in August 2026: the store refused to install the app even though the Apple Account already owned it, and did not offer an earlier version. Then it stopped signing in altogether — any Apple Account, including on a newly created user account on that Mac. So even for someone who bought something years ago while it was still compatible, we would not count on the store handing it back.
Use our direct download instead. Build 1204.98 runs from macOS 10.14 Mojave onwards. Each edition above says what that means for it specifically.
We have not tested macOS 10.15 Catalina or 11 Big Sur, which in practice are the more likely cases. If you are on one of those and the App Store will not cooperate, tell us — it is useful to know, and the direct download works either way.
Not sure which applies to you? The compatibility checker will tell you from your Mac model and macOS.
