The desktop applications behind Vellum Workshop — what each one is, which operating systems it runs on, and where that stops.
Precision 2D and 3D wire-frame drafting of unlimited complexity — productive even when used only occasionally.
Compatibility
macOS: Runs on macOS 12 Monterey (2021) and everything since, including macOS 26 Tahoe — and we expect Golden Gate, the next macOS, to be fine too. Nothing in Graphite v14 depends on old Apple technology.
On macOS 12 Monterey we support its final release, 12.7.6.
Windows: Runs on Windows 10 (2015) and Windows 11 (2021), 64-bit only. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 in October 2025, so Windows 11 is where Windows itself still gets updates.
Notes
The macOS 12 Monterey floor is the one change that matters when deciding whether v14 reaches a given Mac.
Compatibility
macOS: Runs on macOS 10.13 High Sierra (2017) and everything since, including macOS 26 Tahoe — and we expect Golden Gate, the next macOS, to be fine too. It does need Rosetta 2, Apple's translation layer, so macOS 28 — the release after Golden Gate, where Apple removes Rosetta 2 — is where it stops.
On macOS 10.13 High Sierra we support its final release, 10.13.6; below 10.13 it will not start at all.
Windows: Runs on Windows 10 (2015) — in both its 32- and 64-bit editions — and on Windows 11 (2021), which is 64-bit only. The application itself is 32-bit and runs fine on any of these. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 in October 2025, so Windows 11 is where Windows itself still gets updates.
Compatibility
macOS: Runs on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (2012) and everything up to macOS 10.14 Mojave. It does not run on macOS 10.15 Catalina or later.
On OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion we support its final release, 10.8.5.
Windows: Runs on Windows 7 (2009), Windows 8.1 (2013) and Windows 10 (2015), in both 32- and 64-bit editions of Windows. The application itself is 32-bit and runs fine on any of these. Microsoft has ended support for all of these — Windows 7 in January 2020, Windows 8.1 in January 2023 and Windows 10 in October 2025 — so such a system still runs the software but no longer gets Windows updates.
Notes
The better fit for a Mac running High Sierra or Mojave.
The top of the 3D modeling line: Class-A NURBS surfaces, ACIS solids and wireframe in one package, with equation-driven parametrics and a mechanical parts library.
The mid-point of the 3D modeling line — the same Class-A NURBS surfaces, ACIS solids and wireframe as Cobalt, without its high-end mechanical functions such as equation-driven parametrics and the mechanical parts library.
Entry-level, history-free 3D modeling: the same Class-A NURBS surfaces, ACIS solids and wireframe as Cobalt and Xenon, without the high-end mechanical design features.
One release line covers all 3 — everything below applies to each of them.
Compatibility
macOS: Runs on macOS 12 Monterey (2021) and everything since, including macOS 26 Tahoe — and we expect Golden Gate, the next macOS, to be fine too. Nothing in v12 (build 1204.219) depends on old Apple technology.
On macOS 12 Monterey we support its final release, 12.7.6; below 12.4 it will not start at all.
Windows: Runs on Windows 10 (2015) and Windows 11 (2021), 64-bit only. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 in October 2025, so Windows 11 is where Windows itself still gets updates.
Notes
Apple Silicon support arrived in build 1204.200; 1204.219 is the build to be on.
PhotoRender and Animation are not in this band.
Parasolid import returned in build 1204.204; Parasolid export has not returned yet.
The only customers who should be on this release are those whose Mac is stuck on macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.14 Mojave, macOS 10.15 Catalina or macOS 11 Big Sur — a Mac that cannot update to macOS 12 Monterey or later. That floor is its only advantage over build 1204.219. On Windows there is no reason to be on it: use 1204.219.
Compatibility
macOS: Runs on macOS 10.14 Mojave (2018) and everything since, including macOS 26 Tahoe — and we expect Golden Gate, the next macOS, to be fine too. It does need Rosetta 2, Apple's translation layer, so macOS 28 — the release after Golden Gate, where Apple removes Rosetta 2 — is where it stops.
On macOS 10.14 Mojave we support its final release, 10.14.6; below 10.13 it will not start at all.
Windows: Runs on Windows 10 (2015) and Windows 11 (2021), 64-bit only. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 in October 2025, so Windows 11 is where Windows itself still gets updates.
Notes
Still offered — see the v12 build-history page.
Lightworks and Parasolid were removed in build 1204.95, so this build has no PhotoRender, no Animation and no Parasolid import or export.
Only customers who specifically paid for a long-term Heritage Edition subscription prior to October 31st, 2024 are eligible to run this edition.

Lithium is a drafting and 3D-wireframe product with mesh support. It has never had Parasolid, which is a B-rep format — that is a difference in what the product is, not a build-band difference.
